The Caturra family of coffee varieties was discovered in 1949, and it has large, red fruits that are perfect for roasting. It has a low growth habit and is a natural mutation of the Bourbon variety. It has a remarkably similar flavor and is grown at higher altitudes. The only difference is that this particular variety doesn’t have a stable tree from generation to generation. If it grows well, the beans of this coffee can be exceptional.
